Kei Miyaguchi, Recovery and Enrichment Specialist
Kei received her BS in Art Therapy, with a concentration in fine arts at Lesley University in Cambridge MA. She has always had the calling to serve others through creative expression and, throughout her education journey, she has had various experiences in the mental health field, from interning at Arbour HRI Psychiatric hospital in Brookline MA, to Medicine Wheel Productions in S. Boston, MA. She started my career journey in Syosset NY, working with undocumented psychiatrically diagnosed youth as a Program Manager at Mercy First. She is currently exploring her options to further pursue a PsyD degree.
Favorite Activities with Residents:
Having a heavily art inspired background, Kei believes being part of the R.E.P. team has been a gratifying experience. Her favorite types of activities to do are projects that allows residents to dive deep into their creative minds and get messy!
Proud Moments at Work:
“Any proud moment experienced at PFTL is comprised of successful moments in which any of our residents unlearn their reservations and become in touch with their inner child. Seeing anyone break down their barriers and hesitations before any project or experiential is always a fortifying experience to watch unfold. The process of learning something new or re-connecting with an old childhood memory and then building on that old joy is one of the proudest and rewarding moments I have experienced at PFTL.”
